Despite President Donald Trump’s hate for Baltimore, Maryland’s 7th district has many sources of pride, including their representative Elijah Cummings who has adeptly served the area for twenty years in office. He recently became the chairperson for the House Oversight Committee, and with it, a watchdog of the President’s missteps.
Cummings has recently issued a subpoena of Trump’s finances. This is not good news for POTUS, whose Trump Organization filed a lawsuit against Cummings for doing so
After suing Elijah Cummings to hide whatever skeletons lie in his coffers, Trump then tweeted a series of nasty racist insults against the Democrat as well as his home city of Baltimore. Of the offensive comments, Cummings said: “I think the thing that bothers me most is that we have a situation where there are folks who are stepping on … the hope of our children.“ He explained that the kids of Baltimore must be hurt to hear their President speak that way about their hometown.
Seems like Trump doesn’t want America seeing his tax returns. In fact, he must be pretty afraid to turn the tables and play “I know you are but what am I?” with Representative Cummings. However, Cummings is not scared of Trump or the hatred directed as his city. He is leading the investigation into Trump’s financial records on the House Oversight Committee. We’ll be waiting!
